As the Interdisciplinary Studies Librarian, I offer research consultations to scholars working on humanities and social science topics broadly. Specifically, I am the library liaison to the School of Education and the departments of gender & sexuality, religion, global & international studies, language science, African American Studies, French, and Italian.
I see research consultations as conversations in which we brainstorm how to approach and organize a topic and how to develop search strategies to find useful resources. In these conversations, I work to create a compassionate environment through active listening and radical empathy, and strive to empower scholars to develop research strategies and processes that make the most sense to each individual.
My available times are displayed in the Pacific time zone. I offer appointments in person and via Zoom (because of the need to screenshare). I will have my video on, but video is optional for you.
If my available times don't work for you, or if this system is inaccessible, please email me at melissa.beuoy@uci.edu with:
and we can communicate directly about setting up an appointment. This appointment system is cumbersome and takes a lot of time to update, so please know I'm happy to work around it via email. I look forward to speaking and working with you!
