For the past eight years, UC Irvine's Humanities Core has held a student Arts Competition and Exhibition. UCI students are invited to submit original works of art in a range of media that are centered on a theme. The themes are a springboard for students to expand upon Humanities Core course ideas, texts, visual images, artists, narratives, and experiences that have inspired their curiosity, creativity, and sense of connection. The annual exhibition is both a celebration of student creativity and an experiential space in which students, instructors, and the public can connect intellectually and socially around the ideas Humanities Core generates.
To learn more and explore archived virtual exhibitions from past competitions, visit the Humanities Core 3D exhibitions page.
Launched in spring 2024, the UCI Libraries’ Student Displays Pilot Program shares the work and creativity of UCI students with the UCI and local community. Temporary displays in UCI's Langson and Science Libraries, created by students, can include original student art, writing, research, and more in both physical and digital formats.
Proposals are welcome from UCI students, student organizations, faculty, and staff. To learn more about the program, see our program guidelines and proposal form and visit our program FAQs.
