R Workshop

Online

This is a quarter-long, asynchronous course held in Canvas from Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 12 a.m. through December 20, 2024 at 12 a.m. that you can work on when it is convenient for you. There are no required meetings.

R is a programming language and free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. The R language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis.

This workshop includes two Carpentry-based workshops focused on learning R and not statistical analysis. You can choose to complete one or both; it's up to you!

  • Programming with R: Introduction to R built around data analysis, a common scientific task. Participation time is approximately 7 hours.
  • R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis: Teaches novice programmers to write modular code and best practices for using R. Participation time is approximately 9 hours.

For more information, please contact Danielle Kane in Digital Scholarship Services at libdss@uci.edu. Registered participants will receive invites to the Canvas workshop on Monday, October 7, 2024.
