South Korea’s Webtooniverse and the Digital Comic Revolution

In-Person

Join Brian Yecies Ph.D., co-author of South Korea's Webtooniverse and the Digital Comic Revolution and Associate Professor in Communications and Media at the University of Wollongong, Australia for a discussion on the contemporary webtoon industry, its ecosystem, and the fertile landscape for transmedia adaptation. Relatively new to the comics industry, webtoons are a popular digital/web comic that originated in South Korea and now enjoyed across the globe. UCI Libraries' Korea Corner has a sizable collection of webtoons in print. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

A Zoom link will be emailed 24 hours prior to the event.

Registration will close on Tuesday, March 9 at 4 p.m. If you are unable to register, you can view the event Live on Facebook (www.facebook.com/UCILibraries).
