R Workshop

In-Person

This is a 2-week asynchronous course held in Canvas from November 15th at 12 a.m. through November 28th at 12 a.m. R is a programming language and free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. The R language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis. This workshop includes two Carpentry-based workshops, you can choose to complete one or both, it is up to you! Note: these workshops are focused on learning R and not statistical analysis.

  • Programming with R: this introduction to R is built around a common scientific task: data analysis.
  • R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis: this lesson teaches novice programmers to write modular code and best practices for using R.

The amount of participation time for Programming with R is approximately 7 hours and R for Reproducible Scientific Analysis is approximately 9 hours.

For more information, please contact Computational Research Librarian Danielle Kane at kaned@uci.edu. Registered participants will receive invites to the Canvas workshop before the November 15th start date.
