Celebration of First Gen Stories and Zine-Making with Lucid

In-Person

Are you a first generation college student? Are you interested in exploring your experiences through the art of story-telling? Have you ever read or made a zine? This zine-making workshop, run by the editors of Lucid, the journal of first generation student writing published by UCI's Composition Program, welcomes all first-generation college students to come celebrate their stories and engage in the craft of zine-making. Drawing upon the theme of Lucid’s upcoming third Issue, “worldbuilding," the workshop will ask you to think about the "worlds" you come from, confront, and imagine as first-generation college students. In the workshop you'll work with Lucid's editors, meet other students, and create a zine that you'll have the opportunity to archive with UCI Libraries!

This workshop is part of a series of four workshops that will be held throughout this academic year, each co-sponsored by the Humanities Center and its 2021-22 theme, To Form A More Perfect Union? Please follow Lucid @lucid_journal and @ucihumanities for updates about future events!
