Podcasting Studio at UCI Libraries

The podcasting studio at UCI Libraries is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support high-quality audio production. The key components include:

• Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 USB-C Audio/MIDI Interface (4th Generation): This versatile interface offers multiple inputs and outputs, ensuring excellent sound quality and flexibility for various recording needs.
• Shure SM7B 2-Person Dynamic Vocal Microphone and Broadcast Arm Kit: Renowned for its clear and warm sound, the Shure SM7B is ideal for vocal recordings. The broadcast arm kit allows for easy positioning and adjustment.
• Sony MDR-XD100 - Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones: These headphones provide accurate sound reproduction and comfort, making them perfect for monitoring and editing audio.

Study Room Reservation Policies

• Reservations are accepted Monday through Friday, between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Please note that all reservation requests are subject to approval and may be declined based on availability or other considerations.
• Rooms may be booked by current UC Irvine students, staff, and faculty.
• Book up to 7 days in advance.
• Daily Limit: 2 hours across all study rooms.
• Furniture may not be moved in or out of study rooms. Remove all personal items, including trash, at the end of your reservation.
• UC Irvine Libraries are not responsible for unattended belongings.
• If you will not be using the room, cancel your reservation through the link in your email confirmation. This is both a courtesy to other students and will ensure that these hours do not count toward your daily limit.
• When it is time for your reservation proceed directly to the study room. Always have your email confirmation readily available.
• The UC Irvine Libraries reserve the right to cancel reservations due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. emergency maintenance is required).
